Fitting

Once the tether straps are fitted to your car, you can remove or replace the Multimac in a couple of minutes

The Multimac is held in place with two tether straps which are bolted to the floor of your car – usually using the existing seat belt buckle mounting points under the back seat.

(If those points do not exist or are not suitable, we have to drill the floor to create our own mounting points – we call this a Special Fitting)

ISOFIX points are not strong enough and must NOT be used.

We strongly recommend that installation is done by one of our nominated fitting agents (you can opt for your Multimac to be delivered straight to one of the garages at checkout.)

You can also have tether straps fitted to multiple cars so you can move your Multimac between cars – you will require an additional fitting kit to do this as they are unique to each car.

Find your nearest fitting agent and have your Multimac delivered straight there

Please note the garage will charge you for installation on the day

There is no point in having a child seat if it is not fitted correctly.

All our fitting parts (bolts/eye-bolts/tether-straps) are specially made to the necessary high specification, and have been safety tested and approved, and these are not the same as parts you can buy off the shelf. Fitting parts are also car specific so please make sure you let us know the make, model and year of your car so we can provide the correct complete fitting kit.

We strongly recommend that you use one of our fitting agents. If you are miles away from one, then a local garage may be capable of doing the installation following our instructions.

If you are not mechanically minded, please do not attempt to fit the Multimac yourself.

Note that when you change cars you will need a new fitting kit, as different cars require different parts.

      Fitting FAQs

Whilst our models are not made specifically for each car we make a variety of sizes so you can select the widest model that fits on your back seat.

Fitting kits are entirely unique to each car (based on make, model AND year), one is included in your seat order but if you move the multimac into a different car in the future you will need to purchase a new fitting kit from us.

If your car is a standard fitting and you/someone you know is technically minded then you can fit it yourself. But if it is a special fitting you will NEED to have it fitted at one of our specialist fitting agents. We would strongly reccommend you use a fitting agent, as it is a safety critical product.

The multimac is fitted into your car using two tether straps that are fastened to the existing car seat bolts at the back of your seat. You can read more in our installers manual but in most cases we recommend going to one of our special fitting agents for the initial installation.

To tighten your child’s harness pull the strap feeding through the bottom of the unit towards you. To loosen the harness push up the button on the bottom of the seat.

Yep, you can easily install our plug in buckle for use on the two end seats to use the regular car seat belt – or you can remove the multimac and use your regular back seat as normal within 5 minutes. *Please note not all cars are compatible with the plug in buckle*

No, ISOFix points are not strong enough for the Multimac and must not be used. Instead the multimac is fitted with two tether straps fitted into your car using the existing adult seat belt mounting points under the backseat.

If you/someone you know is technically minded and your car requires a standard fitting then you can fix it yourself for free, but in most cases we recommend going to one of our approved and insured fitting agents. On average they charge £150-£300 per car

Yes, once the tether straps are fitted, you can remove the Multimac in a minute or two and your back seat is back to how it was before. This video shows how to remove the Multimac
